Laura Linney is an American actor, who became famous for her portrayal of strong but vulnerable characters. Her father was a renowned playwright. However, Linney was raised as an all-only child by a single mom who was a nurse. In the summer when she was with her father Linney discovered a love for theatre. Her first stage experience was initially in Brown University then at Juilliard School. In the two years following the graduation, she began an Broadway career. A few years later, she was in television. Her appearances have been on a variety of television, film and stage productions since then. There were many awards she received over the course of her career including the four Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. In spite of all these nominations and awards, her enthusiasm for theater is still there constant, as she performs in the stage and on screen.
