Jenna Fischer has become best known for her role as Pam Beesly, the character she played on The Office. For this part, Jenna was honored with two SAG Awards in Outstanding Ensemble Comedy and also an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Her birthplace was Fort Wayne, Indiana, but was raised mostly in St. Louis, Missouri. Jenna was a child who watched her mother Anne who was a church performer. The experience instilled an interest in theater.
Fischer is an actress with theatre training. In the Off-Broadway Play Reasons To Be Happy composed by Neil LaBute with Josh Hamilton and Leslie Bibb as co-stars, Fischer was the lead. In Steve Martin's new production Meteor Shower (an absurdist comedy co-written by Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg), she was then invited to appear in the Old Globe Theatre's record-breaking world premiere.
The Office co-star Angela Kinsey and Fischer have launched Office Ladies, a podcast hosted by Earwolf in the month of October. The podcast has proven to be a huge success, reaching its Top Ten worldwide every week, and receiving more than 200 million downloads during the first two years. Office Ladies was awarded the iHeart Radio Podcast of the year award in January 2021.
She is the author of two books. The Actor's Life and a Survival Guide that details her journey from St. Louis to Hollywood in order to be a professional actress, and the forthcoming Office BFF's: Tales of The Office from Two of the Best Friends who were there (co-authored with Angela Kinsey), which is a memoir of their best friendship as well as their work in The Office.
